MAKING FAKE BLOOD

It has come to my attention that during our shoot, Meadow, who plays the fist victim, dies from a throat slit. Now in order to fully prepare for our shoot on the 3rd of March, and to keep in touch with the mise-en-scene to make sure the sequence looks as realistic as possible, I have researched into making edible fake blood so that when Meadow dies she can essentially 'cough' up this blood to give off a much more gory and effective death scene. 

Here is this recipe which I will be using: 

I have chosen to use an edible recipe that Meadow can have in her mouth and even eat to make the process easier for her and no health risks will be present from anything potentially poisonous. 

Here is my step by step to making the fake blood

Step 1: 

I started out by mixing 1 tbsp of cornflower with 1 tbsp of water, creating a jam like consistency

Step 2: 

I then added the rest of the water in a pan over low heat. Then mixing in the liquid glucose to create a gel like consistency

Step 3: 

then, after I was satisfied with the consistency of the mixture, I added in drops of a mix of blue, red and yellow dye gel. 

As we are going to be using this particular fake blood to 'cough' out the mouth after slitting meadows throat, the colour will be fairly dark which is why I chose to add more blue dye to get this rich colour
