PROPS: SOURCING THE PROPS WE NEED

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, myself and Daisy are in charge of sourcing the props for our opening sequence whilst Cole and Will are in charge of sourcing costumes. I have below a list of where we are able to acquire each prop:

Here I have found two options for the knife prop: it is important that the props look as realistic as possible in order to effectively present the mise-en-scene. Therefore me and Daisy are going to decide after having a group discussion with the rest of our production group so that we are all on board with final decisions.

Here we have found the dog tags that we will be using; originally we wanted to engrave numbers into the chains but after discussing we have come to the conclusion that the engraving would barely contribute to the overall effectiveness of the mise-en-scene.

Here we have sourced the plain white socks that will be used for the hand made weapon for the protagonist; regarding the rocks being used, we would have to create soft fake rocks when the 'hitting' takes place however the props used for that moment aren't heavily important as the camera won't actually see the 'fake props' and therefore wouldn't ruin the mise-en-scene of the moment.

However, just in case I have looked into making them myself using this YouTube video.

Regarding the fake blood we will use, I have taken two approaches: looking into buying fake blood ready or making the fake blood from scratch myself.

I have looked into a YouTube video below:
