COSTUME: WHAT WE NEED FOR THE SHOOT

As mentioned before in a previous blog, within my production group we have allocated certain roles in sourcing both costumes and props during our pre-production planning period; Cole and  Will are in charge of sourcing the costumes for our opening sequence, however, collectively we have all decided upon which costumes we want to use.

Previously, we have been undecided on costumes for the 'victims' upon whether they should be in cocktail dresses or uniform jumpsuits; however, after discussing as a production group we have come to the conclusion that due to the harsh weather conditions during the time of filming, that it would be a health hazard for the cast to wear dresses as we are filming primarily outside in the woods.

instead, we have settled with the uniform, jumpsuits for the victims to wear which actually creates that 'prisoner' look that we are going with and highlights the mise-en-scene to translate the narrative.

From the beginning, myself and the rest of my production group have resonated with the idea that the 'Hunters' would be dressed in Tweed, British shooting weekend gear: we felt this not only posed the idea that this hunt was part of a 'sporting event' but that also class and privilege plays a role as well. We still want to stick with this concept, however, we have had to limit the amount of tweed we can use for the hunters costume as it is extremely expensive and we have to keep budget in mind.

Here are some photos that I have taken from my original mood board:

To organise the exact costumes we need, I have put together a list of items:

- 'Victims'= 2x jumpsuits/ black trainers

-Hunters= tweed jacket/ suit blazer/ checkered shirt/ casual chinos/ suit trousers/ wellies or walking boots of some sort/ tweed hat
