PRESENTATION FEEDBACK

CONCEPT IDEA 3- FEEDBACK

After pitching my third concept idea to my peers, I received a large amount of feedback that is has enabled me to alter some specific concepts within my opening title sequence idea.

Some questions asked after my brief were the logistical side of my concept and its feasibility overall:

- the acting age range? (casting)

- How would I use costume to fully reflect the era?

- how would i successfully communicate the authenticity of the 1950's American suburbia era?

here is how i would use these questions to further develop and improve this certain concept idea:

- The acting range forced me to consider the most efficient range, taking into consideration of the ages within casting at college with students from the ages of 16 to 20 and teachers resulting in a wide range of ages. However this certain character needs to show not only the desperation for this 'American dream' through her behavior but also through the older women she is played by to suggest this life long desperation even more clearly.

Another important piece of feedback was the actuality of the difficulty of producing an authentically created set, costume design, props and set that would achieve the eras essence fully; this forced me to further develop my concept through using these possible limitations. A possible correction of this concept would be through embracing the 'falsity' of the set and somehow addressing the fact that it is merely a 1950's set that is being put in place in modern day through a reveal at the end of how it isn't real through depicting a dollhouse like effect in the set choices.
