-The location of the scene begins in the 1950s American style kitchen as we are
making breakfast for her family. The
women is dressed in typical 1950s
clothing:
-As the opening titles appear, the
camera pans over photographs of
her children and family portraits;
meanwhile a radio is shown and it
plays the diegetic weather forecast
of a storm approaching.
unsettling tone as the ‘radio’ begins to play a stereotypical 50s song
which continues to reflect the disturbing tone arising.

has made and goes to sit down
with her ‘family’. However, as
the camera slowly pans out,revealing the women sitting alone in the kitchen and instead of a family, she is joined with dolls that depict two young children and a
man. The housewife continue s to smile and enjoy her food as the music continues to play.
The main concept of this opening sequence is to depict the desperation for the suburbia ‘American Dream’. The narrative will follow the protagonist in her lonely desperation to have a family and live the ‘American Dream’ that she sees around her, she goes to extreme measures in obtaining this fantasy even if that is taking what isn't hers.
